Ruby is a sci-fi, fantasy, and romance author living on lutruwita, the land of the palawa people. Her young adult science fiction novel, THE LOWFLYERS, earned her literary agent representation in the United States, and her adult contemporary novel SECOND TIME’S A SONG was awarded Highly Commended by Varuna National Writer’s House. In her work, you’ll always find acts of rebellion, threads of optimism, and messy characters you can’t help but root for.

While learning to live with chronic neurological illness, Ruby’s embraced a ‘hopecore’ mindset, and uses it to make motivational content for writers and readers on her successful Instagram account, @rubydevereuxwriter.

When she’s not lurking on the internet, she’s working as an event manager, or being bossed around by her manager, an Italian greyhound called Casper.
